Job Description
The Marketing and PR Coordinator will support the Global PR and Social Manager, Director of Global Marketing, and broader team to grow the TUMI brand in earned media. The role will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of the PR strategy and initiatives for TUMI across global and NA regions. This position involves coordinating media relations in partnership with an external PR agency, project management for key press initiatives, crafting press materials, and collaborating with internal HQ teams to ensure the delivery of cohesive communication efforts to support brand marketing strategies. This role includes daily communication with TUMI’s regional marketing teams to ensure brand consistency, elevation, and timely delivery of press materials in line with Global HQ guidance. The ideal candidate will support the team with new launches, on-going product placement, press previews, large- and small-scale events, and manage sample trafficking and reporting. This is a hybrid role – we work 4 days on site, 1 day remote, weekly.
Responsibilities
Own and maintain Global and North America PR updates for the global marketing calendar, ensuring all key initiatives, launches, and activations are accurately captured and consistently updated for cross-functional visibility.
Support day-to-day communications with the internal Global Marketing team, regional marketing teams, and external North America press agency.
Support North America PR efforts by assisting with agency needs, requests, and activities, ensuring timely coordination, follow-up, and asset/product sample sharing.
Assist in the development and distribution of global press materials, including lookbooks, and press releases for seasonal collections, key launches, product collaborations, store openings, and events.
Assist with seasonal department initiatives including press messaging strategy development, gifting targets, and competitive market analysis.
Coordinate incoming sample and gifting requests, including external agency needs, internal cross-functional team pulls, and media/editorial loans, ensuring sample inventory is accurately tracked and managed.
Manage project timelines and maintain internal PR trackers to ensure on-time delivery of campaign assets, creative requests, and press milestones
Support the intake and coordination of external press inquiries and sample requests, aligning with relevant teams for timely and brand-aligned responses.
Lead the creation of weekly, post-campaign, and quarterly press recap reports, helping compile analytics, coverage highlights, learnings, and key takeaways for internal teams and leadership.
Work with regional teams to collect and consolidate monthly regional press recaps, ensuring global visibility into local coverage and performance.
Assist with the recapping of seasonal initiatives, campaigns, events, and ad-hoc projects.
Provide general administrative and operational support, ensuring smooth communication and alignment across NYC HQ, agency partners, and global/regional markets.
Create and compile Excel and PowerPoint documents to support leadership presentations, team reporting, and cross-functional visibility.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
1-2 years minimum experience in PR/Marketing; retail or fashion PR experience a plus
Experience in a global role, working with international teams across initiatives
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
Strong project management and organizational skills, with attention to detail, timelines, logistics, and cross-functional coordination.
Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
Resourceful, self-starter, proactive with project management, planning and prioritization skills
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple timelines.
Experience using media monitoring and database tools such as Meltwater and Cision
Ability to lift and push product and boxes that can weigh 30 pounds
